Surroundings

Grzebienisko - It is a large village located within the Duszniki district, 30 km away from the centre of Poznań and 5 km away from the A2 Warszawa-Swiecko motorway. The village owns its name probably to two postglacial hills with tops covered with ancient pine forest. They are spoken of as ‘combs combing clouds on the horizon’.

In the western part of the village there is the Ekologiczny Park Krajobrazowy (ecological landscape park) created in the 90’s of the 20th century. Within its area and in its immediate neighbourhood you will find a group of objects, for example: Plac Mieszka I (Mieszko I Square; Mieszko I was the first ruler of Poland, the 10th c.), Strzelnica Bractwa Kurkowego (the shooting range of the archers’ fraternity), museums: Museum of Agriculture, Regional Museum and Museum of Apiculture (bee-keeping); Dom Kultury (a community centre) and Strażacka Izba Pamięci (fire brigade’s exhibition room).

Plac Mieszka I is the central point of the Ekologiczny Park Krajobrazowy. It owes its foundation to the Reverend Zygmunt Humerczyk, who, being the parish priest in the Roman-Catholic parish in Ceradz Kościelny from 1968 to 1997, marked the surroundings strongly by
